M/V YWAM Liberty
Medical vessel in Madang, Papua New Guinea
In a corner of the world where medical services are hard to come by, the M/V Liberty is serving wholeheartedly. They provide dental, eye tests and glasses, and health check ups in Madang and the surrounding areas. Due to the fragmented landscapes, high infrastructure costs, and supply shortages, many Papua New Guineans often go without this basic care.
The clinics are made possible by the selflessness of volunteers gifting their time and talents. Even non-medical personnel come aboard to serve in community engagement--bringing prayer, Bibles, and the gospel to each patient. The work being done far exceeds that of the physical. Emotional and spiritual needs are met through discipleship and prayer.
July 2026
The ship also takes part in the distribution of Operation Christmas Child boxes run by Samaritan's Purse. I had the priviledge to be apart of two of these distributions during my time there. We had a grand total of 845 kids who heard the gospel message and got to have a real Christmas in July experience!
